Resources are available for faculty across campus in addition to the programs that are provided by Faculty Affairs. Faculty have access to teaching resources, research support, technology assistance and more.
Research
The Division of Research and Innovation support faculty research through several offices and areas, including:
- Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP) - Assists faculty with proposals, invoicing, budgets
- Office of Research Integrity and Compliance - Provides guidance on animal care, biological safety, and other areas
- Electronic Research Administration – Offers help with electronic research tools
- Data Analytics - Provides outward facing, internal and external analytics as well as runs reports on awards
- Research Advancement - Supports large, complex proposals, $1 million+
- Industry Research Partnerships – Helps with statement of work, export control and managing contracts
- Centers and Institutes, Core Facilities and Research Equipment
Wally Cordes Teaching Faculty and Support Center (TFSC)
The TFSC recognizes faculty with awards, hosts several faculty events, provides faculty with teaching tips and ideas, funds teaching grants, holds teaching symposiums, workshops and conferences and offers a variety of programs to promote teaching and learning. Visit teaching.uark.edu to learn more.
Teaching Academy
The Teaching Academy is a society committed to excellence in teaching at the University of Arkansas and consists of faculty members who have been recognized by their peers, colleges and the university for their excellence in teaching, including excellence in classroom teaching. The Teaching Academy holds monthly meetings for its members, provides teaching resources and workshops, and works with the TFSC to recognize faculty for teaching excellence. Teaching Innovation and Pedagogical Support (TIPS)
TIPS was developed as a partnership between the TFSC, Information Technology Services and Global Campus to provide academic technology support to faculty. The goal of TIPS is to collaborate across campus to promote faculty development and enhance student success. TIPS provides guidance on using Blackboard, technology and other tools in the online classroom and in person. Read more about TIPS and ways faculty can use the latest technology in their teaching.
NCFDD
The University of Arkansas has an institutional membership to the NCFDD. The mission of the NCFDD is “Empowering faculty for lasting success with programs, coaching, and on-demand support.” Our faculty, postdocs, and graduate students can access professional development webinars, courses, mentoring tools, and workshops focused on strategic planning, writing, work-life balance, and more. Global Campus

High Impact Practices (HIPS)
Each summer, the University of Arkansas hosts events that highlight high-impact practices as defined by the American Association of Colleges and Universities. These events are open to the entire campus community and help foster conversations among faculty and staff centered on student success. Graduate School and International Education (GSIE)
The Graduate School and International Education offers resources, events and workshops for graduate assistants. GSIE holds teaching camp for GAs each August as well as a teaching program called G-STEP. View more information on support available to graduate assistants through GSIE.
Student Success Center
The Student Success Center was created to help pool student and faculty resources to support academic success. The Student Success Center offers faculty consultations, teaching resources, workshops, academic outreach, writing studio for research and grants, data analysis and more.
