Mentoring Graduate Students Workshop

Want to become a better mentor to your graduate students? This university-wide workshop series discusses best practices and suggestions on how to supervise, inspire, support and professionally develop your graduate student mentees.  This eight-session workshop series allows faculty to develop a mentoring philosophy, experiment with various methods of mentoring, and  discuss mentoring challenges and successes with peers. Participants must attend all eight sessions.

All sessions are held 11:30-1:00 pm. Lunch will be provided. Seats are limited to keep the sessions interactive.

February 12th -  Conflict and Mentoring 

February 26th - Addressing Belonging and Engagement

March 12th - Understanding International Student Needs

March 19th - Effective Communication and Setting Expectations

April 2nd - Promoting Self Efficacy and Independence 

April 16th - The Don'ts of Mentoring: Legal and Ethical Considerations

 

Fall 2026 workshop series application will launch in April/May.
