In October 2022, Dr. Samantha Elizabeth Robinson and Dr. Shauna Morimoto were named Provost’s Fellows for Workload Allocation. The goal of this project was to create more transparency around the assignment of workloads, particularly potential imbalances in service and teaching assignments, and provide best practices for addressing questions in work assignments among faculty. As part of this investigative pilot project, Robinson and Morimoto collaborated with faculty from another institution working on a similar project, convened with chairs/heads of pilot departments, and met with faculty members to discuss pilot goals. The fellowship culminated in a partnership with UA ENGAGE to continue and build on existing project progress to develop a Workload Allocation toolkit for departments. |

John C PijanowskiFaculty Fellow |
||
In October 2021, Dr. John Pijanowski was named the inaugural Faculty Fellow for the Office for Faculty Affairs. Working with former Vice Provost Kathryn Sloan, Pijanowski helped identify and promote existing initiatives on campus and create new programs and resources to support faculty. On the heels of the pandemic, this increased focus on wellbeing was meant to support faculty personally and in their role as first responders to students in distress. Pijanowski met with individual faculty, department chairs, and units, and curated resources, including the launch of the faculty wellbeing webpage. The fellowship culminated in offering a month-long Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) seminar sponsored by the Office for Faculty Affairs.
