Faculty Advisory Councils
To help address the needs and requests of both tenure and non-tenure-track faculty, the Office for Faculty Affairs recieves support from faculty advisory councils. Council members are nominated by the dean of each academic college.
Faculty Development Advisory Council
The University of Arkansas is committed to the development of its faculty across the career span and in a wide variety of sectors. The Faculty Development Advisory (FDA) Council consists of representatives from academic colleges. The FDA Council provides a space to share current and upcoming professional development opportunities, communicate to faculty about these opportunities, and seek input on the changing topics and needs of faculty members to create opportunities that are relevant. The FDA Council meets twice a semester.
Non-Tenure Track Advisory Council
The Non-Tenure Track Advisory Council comprises full-time non-tenure track faculty representing seven academic colleges. The goals of the Council are to (1) Openly communicate about NTT faculty challenges, (2) advise the Office for Faculty Affairs on the needs of NTT faculty, (3) clarify existing NTT faculty policies, (4) Explore the need for new policies supporting non-tenure track faculty and advise on policy recommendations.
Faculty Information Systems Committee
The Faculty Information Systems Committee advises the vice provost for faculty affairs on matters pertaining to the function of faculty activity information systems. The committee considers faculty needs and provides recommendations on how to best showcase the full spectrum of faculty professional activities.
