Research and Discovery Camp
Research & Discovery Camp introduces faculty who are starting a research program to strategies and techniques that will make their programs more successful. Participants will be introduced to research development and research compliance policies, procedures and resources. This program is offered in conjunction with the Office of Research and Innovation.
This program will give the participants an opportunity to learn about the research enterprise at the University of Arkansas. Identifying and pursuing external funding – including but not limited to, federal, state, industry and foundation funding – will be reviewed during the camp, in addition to resources that support research and scholarly activity. (More information can be found online at research.uark.edu).
Due to public health concerns associated with COVID-19, Research and Discovery Camp will be offered in a hybrid model. There will be some face-to-face attendance and virtual participation. Dates are being discussed and this site will be updated soon.
How to Apply
The call for participation will be delivered to first-, second- and third-year faculty in all colleges. Interested faculty should communicate their interest to their department chair/head. Approximately 30 participants will be selected based on their commitment to pursuing funding (by agreeing to submit a future proposal for external funding) and department chair/head support.
Applications will be reviewed, and the cohort will be selected by the Office of Research and Innovation and the Office of Faculty Affairs. Applications can be completed using the online form.
